Any angler or guide who has put their time in on the poling platform to stalk fish out of a technical poling skiff knows how frustrating it can be to spend hours setting up on fish, finally lining up on them in just the right way, with the stars about to align, and as you pick up and plant the end of your push pole to stop the boat and pivot your angler, your hard plastic push pole tip bumps a rock or a piece of coral, creating an acoustic signature that no technical gamefish could ignore. The fish feels this unnatural, intrusive sound and knows something isn't right, and spooks away! Totally blowing your opportunity that you had worked so hard for! The modular quick-change push pole tip system with rubber tips mitigates this as much as possible, and allows for increased success rate versus stock components.
In today's day and age anglers and guides are pushing the bar higher every day when it comes to technique, technology, and equipment. Precision Poling Systems saw a problem that needed to be solved. We were tired of loud push pole tips, and needed to come up with an engineered solution that w ould dampen this sound, as well as stand up to the rigors of daily guide use in saltwater. The original prototype is still being ran with little wear on Captain Ian Slater's skiff in Key West, seeing heavy daily use from this world-renowned guide, and has been successful on all bottom types tested so far.
The modular quick change system is another benefit and provides the guide / angler the ability to quickly change tip classes with no tools required. This allows the guide to switch from a rubber flat bottom tip, to a stainless-steel spiked tip, to a rubber overmolded foot. This allows the guide the potential to run two points/spikes, two feet, etc. This truly allows you to set your push pole up the way that works the best for you and react to wind / current / bottom conditions presented to you whether you are happy with those conditions or not.
If you have spent many hours on the poling platform, you have no doubt encountered issues with existing Push-Pole spikes. Whether it was durability, underwater sound signature, or simply form, no product on the market had achieved the same level of progression that other products in the market have (Fly Rods, Skiffs/Composites, Motors, Fly Lines, etc.) Precision Poling Systems is advancing push pole ground interface technology to make a push pole meeting the needs of Today's discerning technical guide / angler.
With Precision Poling Systems' proprietary acoustic reduction system, stalking fish with your push pole has never been easier. Worry less about bumping your tip on something and alerting the fish of your approach. Machined out of DOMESTIC USA 6061 T6 Aluminum, you'll find peace of mind knowing your tip system was constructed of the finest materials available.
